How to Find Peace in Turbulent Times

One morning in April of 2012 I woke up and noticed that a large portion of our Craigslist ads had been deleted. At the time Craigslist was our main source of income as we were selling furniture all over the country.

This was the equivalent of someone going to bed with $10,000 in the bank and then waking up and seeing $2,000.

We suspected a competitor was using software to repeatedly flag our ads and there was nothing we could do to keep them live. Immediately fear started to grip me as I wondered how we would ever survive this.

But God…..

He already had a plan in place for us to not only survive, but for our business to go above and beyond where it was before. Just a short time after that I met Jim Cockrum and as a result our business exploded. If I hadn’t faced that challenge I wouldn’t have seen those new opportunities.

What are you facing today?

Maybe it’s the loss of a job or a decrease in hours/sales.

Maybe it’s a bad health report.

Maybe it’s a family challenge.

Whatever it is, I can tell you that it was not a surprise to God. He saw it coming and He has already planned a way of escape and I believe that you’re going to get through this and come out the other side stronger than ever before.

In the Amplified version Hebrews 13:5,6 says

“God Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. I will not, I will not, I will not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let you down (relax My hold on you)! Assuredly not!

So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm. I will not fear or dread or be terrified. What can man do to me?”

These words above have been a tremendous source of peace and encouragement during turbulent times and I pray that they’ll do the same for you.
