Supply

See His Supply

In my son’s preschool class they are memorizing scriptures and one of the passages he’s working on is Psalm 23.

I love how the Amplified version reads - “The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.”

It’s a favorite of mine and one of my go to scriptures over the years. I mark up my Bible liberally and many times I add dates next to scriptures that speak to me during whatever I’m going through at the time.

In the margin of Psalm 23 I have written “3/15/09 Stay Close to the Shepherd"

In March of 2009 we were just a few months into our business. We were selling furniture on Craigslist and at that point it wasn’t clear that it was going to work. Melane and I were about 6 weeks from getting married and I was feeling the pressure of how I was going to provide for her.

Fear-filled thoughts of lack were attacking my mind like arrows in a battle.

Psalm 23 was one of those passages of scripture that I meditated on during that time.

It helped me take my eyes off of my circumstances and get my eyes on Him, the Shepherd. He is my Shepherd to feed, guide, and shield me and because of that I shall not lack.

Is there anything in your life where in the natural you’re seeing lack?

Lack of business?

Lack of money in your bank account?

Lack of peace in a relationship?

Lack of wisdom in a situation?

Whatever the lack, He is your supply.

Take your eyes off the lack and put them on the Shepherd. Take the pressure off of yourself to fix the situation and give it to Him.

As the shepherd it’s HIS job to feed us, guide us and shield us.

Our job is just to stay close to Him.

Do that today!
